Hi, I’m Stacey — a stay-at-home mum, former nurse, and the face behind Staying Home with Stacey.
After having my first son Dusty and working as a Nurse, I swapped scrubs for spatulas and nappies and with a bit of adjustment become a stay at home mum. I found joy in the slower and often messy days at home with two young kids and creating a space that was well lived in. Cooking became more than just feeding my family — it became a way to slow down, create rhythm in our days, and nourish us all on a budget. That’s what led me to start Staying Home with Stacey — a place to share the kind of food I actually make in real life.
Here you’ll find simple, seasonal recipes using whole ingredients — the kind of meals that fit into busy weekdays but still feel a little special. I share everything from family-friendly dinners and quick lunches to realistic meal prep and healthy snack ideas. I’m all about food that’s practical, delicious, and doesn’t require a culinary degree (or an entire afternoon in the kitchen).
Snacks definitely have their place (they’re basically a food group in our house), but so does a well-packed lunchbox, a nourishing weeknight meal, or a batch of something ready to go in the freezer.
You’ll also find tips and inspiration from my kitchen garden. Growing our own food — even just herbs and greens — has helped me connect more deeply with what we eat and where it comes from. Plus, nothing beats the feeling of harvesting something you grew yourself, even if the snails get half of it.
Whether you’re here for recipes, garden inspo, or just to feel a little more grounded in the everyday — I’m so glad you’re here.
